It’s excellent news for those folks who have been waiting for their 2023 Discovery Sport because Land Rover India has begun with its deliveries. Priced at Rs 71.39 lakh, ex-showroom, the Discovery Sport is available in only the R-Dynamic SE variant.

You can still choose between two engine options, however. The 247-bhp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and the 201-bhp 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine are both mated to an automatic gearbox. It’s the turbo-diesel engine that gets a 48-volt mild hybrid technology. Of the two engines, it’s the turbo-petrol that’s faster with a 0-100-kph sprint time of 8 seconds and a top speed of 225 kph.

The Discovery Sport comes with plenty of features like LED headlights with LED DRLs, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 3D surround camera, and a ClearSight interior rearview mirror — that projects a direct feed of what’s behind through a camera into the rearview mirror.

Inside, there’s more luxurious stuff like the leather-wrapped steering wheel, electric adjustment for the driver seat with memory function, dual-zone climate control, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker Meridian sound system, and a PM 2.5 air filter among others.

It even comes with a Terrain Response System 2 on offer, which essentially monitors the driving condition and will automatically select the suitable driving mode. This Land Rover comes with an all-wheel drive as standard and can wade through 600 mm of water, plus a bunch of tech features like Hill Descent Control and All Terrain Progress Control. We can’t wait to test out its abilities in this monsoon.
