Indian Motorcycle has added a fourth bike to its bagger range – the Springfield – and it comes with a Rs 31.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune) pricetag. The other bikes in the range are the Chief Vintage, Chieftain and Chieftain Dark Horse. And like the Springfield, they are all powered by the Thunder Stroke 111, an 1800cc V-Twin, which produces 73 bhp and 14 kgm in the Springfield.

The design of the Springfield is more heritage/retro than the Chieftains, but at the same time it seems to sit on the fine line between homage and modern. It gets the all-chrome headlamp surround with internally wired handlebars, a keyless ignition, cruise control, a cast-aluminium frame and a remotely-lockable saddle bags. There are plenty of traditional bits too, like the illuminated headdress on the front mudguard, engine head and cam covers designs which are based on older motors, a quick-release windshield, traditional clocks and stitched leather seats. The Springfield is based on a slightly longer chassis, and comes with 25 inches of rake, with the bike weighing in at 376 kg, without fluids.

The Springfield will be available from six Indian dealerships in the country, which includes the one in recently opened in Kolkata.
