Volkswagen has launched a new version of the VW Passat in India, called the VW Passat Connect. Like its brethren, the Ameo Connect, Polo Connect, and Vento Connect, the new Passat Connect comes with connected features through a smartphone app.

Through the app and a plug-and-play OBD dongle, various things like tracking, fuel cost monitoring, driving behaviour, location sharing, SOS call, service appointment, etc. can be managed. The Connect app is available on both iOS and Android platforms, and the connect OBD device is said to be compatible with all of the current VW products.

VW India has already launched ‘Connect’ versions of the Ameo compact saloon, Polo hatchback, and Vento midsized saloon. In addition, the Passat now gets a special variant, while the Tiguan is also said to be compatible with the system. There are two trims on the VW Passat Connect: Comfortline and Highline. These are priced at Rs 25.99 lakh and Rs 28.99 lakh respectively.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars’ Director, Steffen Knapp said, “The Volkswagen Passat is made for perfectionists filled with path-breaking technologies to make life easier. With the all-new Passat Connect, Volkswagen aims to further transform and enhance the customer driving experience. The Volkswagen Connect will empower our customers to manage a host of services such a driving behaviour analysis, trip tracking, fuel cost monitoring, and other convenient features available on their fingertips.”
