Okay, back to the topic at hand. Tata Motors has announced that bookings for the Tata Tigor – Tiago’s sibling with a boot – are now open, against a deposit of just Rs 5,000. At all Tata Motors’ dealerships across the country.
The sub-four-metre saloon will sit below the Zest, and is likely to be priced aggressively as well – much like the Tiago. And also like in the Tiago – on which the Tigor is based – the engine range comprises a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated petrol (which Kartik appreciated during the drive) and the 1.05-litre diesel. Both engines are three-cylinder units, and come with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard.
But where it actually differs from the Tiago is in the boot. The hatchback might be the more practical of the two if you have to park in tight spaces, but with 419 litres of luggage space, the Tigor can easily be the weapon of choice for weekend getaways.
