Times have changed. There was a time when Volvo had brought only 30 units of S60 Polestars to India and that too for quite a bargain. Now, Volvo will soon be launching the third-generation of the S60 in India by March 2021.

The new S60’s underpinnings will be based on Volvo’s new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform. This new SPA platform has even proved its safety worthiness by securing a perfect 5-star rating from Euro-NCAP. On the design front, the new-generation gets the typical Thor’s hammer LED headlights and C-shaped LED tail lights, and is shod with 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. As for tech features, the S60 will get adaptive cruise control, pilot assist, oncoming mitigation by braking, city safety with steering support, lane keeping aid, driver alert control, speed alert and brakes with hill start assist among others. In addition to that, it will get Harman Kardon sound system, four-zone climate control, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, park assist camera, and will be available in two colour options for its interior leather: Maroon Brown and Blond.

Volvo will be offering the S60 in a turbo petrol engine which has the T4 inscription. Its 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces 188 bhp and 30.59 kgm of torque, paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. In other news, Volvo in the near future will also launch an electric version of the XC40 as well. And from 2021 onwards, Volvo will be moving towards the electrification path.
