Mini’s Sports Activity Vehicle, the Countryman Cooper S, is here with two variants on offer – S and JCW Inspired. It’s just a minor facelift that includes a redesigned front grille, front bumper and rear bumper, new LED headlights and fog lights, Union Jack-inspired LED taillights and fresh looking alloys – 17-inchers for the S variant and 18-inchers for the JCW Inspired one. With the JCW Inspired kit, you even get the sporty rear spoiler and the aero kit.

Inside, as far as tech is concerned, the JCW Inspired variant gets all the bells and whistles. It features a 5.5-inch fully-digital display, head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay, speakers by Harman Kardon, adjustable rear seats, and a picnic bench among others.

Underneath the Mini Countryman’s hood is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine which produces 188 bhp and 28.55 kgm of torque, paired to a 7-speed auto ‘box. That’s good enough for it to accelerate from 0-100 kph in 7.5 seconds and attain a top speed of 225 kph. It even has three Mini driving modes: Mid mode is the standard driving mode, whereas Sport and Green are the other two driving modes on offer.

As for this Countryman Cooper S variant, you will have to shell out Rs 39.5 lakh, ex-showroom, while the JCW Inspired variant is priced at Rs 43.4 lakh, ex-showroom. Will there ever be a full-blown JCW version of the Countryman? We sure hope so.
