The largest (and the most expensive, among regular versions) MINI has been launched in India. Called the Clubman, it’s also the most spacious, looks every bit as smart, and boasts a unique split-door setup at the rear.

You can specify any engine on the MINI Clubman Cooper S as long as it’s the 190 bhp-producing 2-litre turbocharged petrol. It comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and power is sent to front wheels only – remember this is not the ALL4 version.

Imported as a completely built unit (CBU) and hence attracting a lot of taxes, the Clubman is available in a total of 12 colour choices, including British Racing Green. The spacious interior also boasts the largest panoramic glass roof to be present on a MINI.

Talking of space, there’s 360 litres of loading capacity, which can be increased to 1,250 litres with the rear seats folded. To add to the practicality, the seat back can be folded in 40:20:40 split.

But added space doesn’t mean that you have to compromise on performance, as the Clubman comes with a claimed 0-100 kph time of 7.2 seconds, and a top speed of 228 kph.
