Mercedes replaced the Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 Coupe with the all-new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe, which is also the debut of the 53 AMG series in India. In terms of size, the 53 counterpart is bigger in all dimensions and of course big on performance, too. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine producing 429 bhp and 53.09 kgm of peak torque. On top of that, EQ Boost will give you an additional 21 bhp and 25.49 kgm of torque via a 48V mild-hybrid system. A 9-speed auto gearbox sends all of this power to all the four wheels. This translates to a 0-100 kph sprint time of 5.3 seconds and has an electronically limited 250 kph top speed.

In the looks department, upfront the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe gets the signature Panamericana grille with vertical slats, 21-inch alloys, an AMG exhaust system along with the essential turbo and AMG badges. The driver can choose how loud the AMG performance exhaust system sounds. This should keep both the neighbours and the driver happy. Inside, it gets a large 12.1-inch display unit which incorporates the instrument cluster and infotainment display, latest MBUX system, and two different upholstery options.

Now, it is obvious that the upgrade from the 43 to 53 will be a costly affair. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe will set you back by Rs 1.2 crore, ex-showroom, Delhi, which is approximately Rs 18 lakh more than its outgoing 43 counterpart.
