Mercedes-Benz has launched the AMG E 53 Cabriolet to the Indian market. The two-door convertible costs Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom). It has four seats as well as an electric folding soft top. Up front, it gets an AMG-exclusive Panamericana grille and a beefy front bumper. At the back, the car has subtle sporty accents like quad exhausts.

Inside, it features an AMG-specific three-spoke steering wheel and a dual-screen arrangement that includes a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system. The safety package has seven airbags and driver-assistance technologies, including adaptive cruise control, a pop-up roll bar, and attention assist.

Powering the E 53 Cabriolet is a 429-bhp 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. It produces 53.03 kgm of torque and is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission that transmits power to all four wheels via the 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system. It also includes AMG’s Ride Control+ air suspension. Mercedes claims the E 53 Cabriolet can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 4.5 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph.

The AMG E 53 Cabriolet is available in five colours — Obsidian Black, Selenite Grey, White Bright, Red Bright, and Blue Magno. The soft top comes in black, dark brown, dark blue, and dark red, while the interior comes in three trim options — AMG carbon-fibre, wood grain and aluminium, and grey open-pore ash wood.
