We’re big fans of the Kia Carnival, and we think it’s the best 7-seater on sale in India right now. The one on sale in India is the 3rd generation model, and so far, Kia hasn’t indicated that it’ll bring the 4th generation car to India. We certainly hope they do, and if they bring the Hi Limousine, we’re certain there will be takers.

The Hi Limousine is essentially an ultra-luxe version of the Carnival, with a tremendous amount of room in the cabin due to there being just four seats. And what seats – aircraft business class-style numbers in the 2nd row, clad in quilted Nappa leather and top-notch materials, with extendable leg rests. Kia says the seats have a ‘Premium Relaxation Seat’ function, which distributes the load on your hips and back and helps you to sprawl out luxuriously. Both seats are individually operated and come with tray tables, plus there’s side armrests with consoles that have a wireless charging pad and heated/cooled cup holders.

A 7-inch touch display has seat controls, and the screen can also be used to control other things like the A/C, rear seat lights, the 21.5-inch ceiling-mounted smart monitor and the foot massager behind the front passenger seat. Other whizbangs in the cabin include a cold and hot cabinet for beverages, a rear seat storage space, space for ceiling-mounted hanger and storage room under the floor.

The Carnival Hi Limousine gets a 3.5-litre SmartStream V6 petrol engine with 290 bhp and 36 kgm; it’s mated to an 8-speed auto transmission that sends drive to the front wheels. The suspension has been worked on to provide a plusher ride, says Kia. Like we said, there’s no indication this car will make it to India, but we can only cross our fingers and hope.
