Showcased at the 2019 North American International Auto Show and simultaneously at an event in India, the Hyundai Venue has been on everyone’s radar for a while. It’s the brand’s offering in the sub-four-metre SUV segment, and is claimed to be ‘India’s First Fully Connected SUV’. You can read more about its features, the Blue Link system, and other details in our previous reports here and here. The Hyundai Venue has been launched in India at Rs 6.5 lakh onwards.

To recapitulate, the Venue is available with three engine choices: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel, and a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol. The latter is a first for Hyundai India, and brings along another first for the carmaker here: an optional dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The Venue measures 3995 mm in length, 1770 mm in width, and 1605 mm in height. It has a 45-litre fuel tank, and comes with 15-inch or 16-inch wheels, depending on the variant. Other notable features include cruise control, wireless phone charging, air purifier, electric sunroof, a 20.32 cm touchscreen infotainment system, hill-assist control, etc. There are seven colours to choose from and three interior stitching/colour themes. If you’re looking to make a louder style statement, then there’s also the option of speccing the Venue with a dual-tone colour scheme with a black or white roof.

Standard safety kit includes ABS with EBD, ISOFIX, dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, etc. Depending on the trim one chooses, these can be extended to six airbags, hill-assist control, ESC, VSM, etc. Hyundai is also making an extra effort in helping its customers learn and understand the Blue Link system. So a technician will make a visit on the 15th day from the date of purchase and will explain in detail the features of the system. A simulation app will also be installed across dealerships so that you can get a first-hand experience before making the purchase. In addition, the Venue will be offered with 3 years/unlimited mileage warranty and road-side assistance for the same period.

Hyundai Motor India’s MD and CEO, S S Kim said, “We are extremely delighted with the launch of Hyundai Venue in India.
