The upcoming Ford Freestyle crossover (or compact utility vehicle; Ford’s words, not mine) will be available on the popular e-commerce website, Amazon. The Amazon-exclusive bookings will open on April 14 at 2:00 PM for a period of 24 hours. Limited to a hundred units, the cars booked like this will be among the first to be delivered, mentions Ford India in an official announcement.

The Ford Freestyle is based on the Figo, but the company has made changes to the exterior, interior, and even the underpinnings. With the car, Ford has also introduced its new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, while the 1.5-litre diesel unit is carried over from other sub-four-meter Ford cars.

The prices for the crossover aren’t announced yet, but on April 14, you’ll be able to book it against an online payment of Rs 10,000 on Amazon. Not only that, the dedicated page (www.amazon.in/freestyle; to be available on the Amazon mobile app, too) on the popular online marketplace will allow you to choose the variant, engine, and colour.

Ford will offer up to six airbags (two standard on all variants), a new 6.5-inch touchscreen SYNC 3 infotainment system (compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, among other connectivity suites), reverse parking camera, push-button start, automatic climate control, and even Active Rollover Protection.

Ford India’s VP, Marketing, Rahul Gautam said, “Ford Freestyle has been designed for young, progressive, independent & free-spirited customers who love to stay connected. From everyday things to high value purchases like mobile phones, they are buying everything online. Through this partnership with Amazon, Ford is bringing an exclusive opportunity for such customers to own India’s first compact utility vehicle Ford Freestyle, from the convenience of their homes, offices or wherever they may be.”
