Citroen is all set to launch the C3 crossover on the 20th of July, with official bookings opening on the 1st of July, 2022. It will be positioned under the C5 Aircross and will compete with the likes of the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kiger.

The Citroen C3 is based on the brand’s Common Modular Platform (CMP) with more than 90 per cent localization. The CMP platform is PSA group’s modular, multi-energy platform developed in collaboration with Dongfeng Motors. The car will be built at the CK Birla facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. It will also be the first of the three new models that will be arriving in India as part of the brand’s C-Cubed program. The C-Cubed program consists of one new vehicle launch every year till 2023.

The C3 also features a funky exterior and will come with 4 mono-tone and 6 dual-tone colour options. It will also get 3 customisation packs and 2 choices for the interior trim. Inside, the car gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Mirror Screen function, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets 3 fast-charging USB ports, a 12V socket, a flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, auto climate control and a digital instrument cluster.

The C3 will be offered with two petrol engine options. The first is an 81 bhp 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated unit paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The alternative is a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol making 108 bhp and 19.3 kgm of torque paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. The claimed mileage for the 1.2-litre petrol engine is 19.8 kpl, while that of the turbo-petrol engine is 19.4 kpl.
