Ever since its launch, the Chevrolet Enjoy’s sales – which has been hovering around the 250 units/month – has been propped up by taxi-fleet buys. This was definitely not what Chevrolet had hoped for. So the inevitable has happened, Chevrolet has finally bit the bullet and has decreased the Enjoy’s prices. And how.

Prices for the base petrol variant has come down from Rs 6.51 lakh to Rs 4.99 lakh, while the cheapest diesel now starts from Rs 5.99 lakh, a good Rs 1.9 lakh cheaper than before. Going up the variants, the most expensive petrol Enjoy is now priced at Rs 6.24 lakh, while the top-end diesel is a hefty Rs 1.93 lakh cheaper – Rs 7.24 lakh.

These new prices has really got us thinking. Other than the Maruti Eeco, every other people carrier which can seat eight people is Rs 2 – 3 lakh more expensive than the Enjoy. And the Enjoy is definitely many engineering years ahead of an Eeco, and is much safer too, considering that the top-end LTZ variant comes with dual airbags, ABS and EBD. There is nothing much to complain about the engines too, the 1.4-litre petrol makes 99 bhp and the 1.2-litre diesel produces 74 bhp. And dont forget, the Enjoy is rear-wheel-drive.  Therefore it is fairly modern, well built, comfortable and decently equipped MPV, that can now be bought at a very attractive price.
