You must be wondering, ‘Wasn’t the MG ZS EV launched like last year?’ Yes, you’re correct. It has been a year already since its launch. But, the 2021 MG ZS EV has added up a few essential features to its list. Also, MG has big plans of setting up charging stations across India.

With the all-new MG ZS EV, the styling and design remains the same, only change that you will notice on the outside is its improved ground clearance. Due to the high placement of its all-new battery pack, the ZS EV has a ground clearance of 177 mm. That’s always a positive for Indian road conditions. Its 44.5 kWh Hi-Tech battery now sits at 205 mm.

As far as performance is concerned, the new battery still puts out the same performance, producing 141 bhp and 35.69 kgm of torque. It still takes only 8.5 seconds to reach the 100 kph mark and offers 300 to 400 km of range on a full charge. MG is also setting up AC chargers at the owners’ house or office for free. To charge your EV in 50 minutes, there are superfast DC charging stations available at MG’s dealership with a 24×7 charge-on-the-go facility, but they are only limited to five cities at the moment.

Under MG’s eShield program, it is providing a free-of-charge 5-year warranty for unlimited kilometres, 8 years or 1.5 lakh km warranty on the battery pack system, round-the-clock roadside assistance for 5 years and five labour free services.

Initially, the ZS EV was only available in five cities, now it is available in 31 cities. Bookings for which are open and you can choose between two variants: Excite and Exclusive. The Excite variant is priced at Rs 20.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and the Exclusive variant is priced at Rs 24.18 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. You can check out our review of the older variant here.
