As far as eye-candy’s concerned, Mahindra is right there at the top with the best ones, at the Auto Expo 2018. Do you remember how the Mahindra XUV Aero concept garnered all the attention in 2016? It’s been taken to a different level this year, with the TUV Stinger.

The convertible-SUV concept not only is one of its kind but the fact that it’s based on the TUV makes it all the more interesting.

Mahindra also showcased its wide range of EVs including the current range and concepts. The exhibits also include nicely modified versions of the Thar, KUV, etc. But the star of the show has to be the Mahindra-badged Ssangyong G4 Rexton. The company maintains that the full-size SUV will have a new name when it goes on sale in India.

Apart from the new, much appreciated styling, the Fortuner-/Endeavour-rival also appears to have the best interior ever seen on a Mahindra. The features list is pretty impressive, too, with electric sunroof, 8-inch infotainment system, nine airbags, HID headlamps, etc. It comes with a 2.2-litre diesel engine which makes 178 bhp and 42.85 kgm.

The new concepts include the ATOM urban mobility tool; UDO 2-seater electric pod; e-KUV100 with a range of over 140 km and the ability to charge up to 80 per cent in less than an hour; e2o NXT an updated version of the current e2o Plus; Li-on-powered Treo three wheeler; e-COSMO electric bus etc.

Mahindra Auto Expo 2018

Mahindra’s Executive Chairman, Anand Mahindra said, “As India aspires to global leadership on climate action, the time is right to develop sustainable mobility solutions for the future. Mahindra’s electric pavilion at the Auto Expo showcases our vision of the Future of Mobility – one that offers Clean, Connected and Convenient vehicles to our consumers in India and around the world.”

Other exhibits are some of the current models from both passenger vehicle, Mahindra customization, and the trucks and buses range. There’s also the multiple-race-winning Formula E contender, called M3Electro.
