It’s happening, folks – flying cars are a reality. The AirCar, a hybrid car-plane, has completed a 25-minute test flight in Slovakia. It’s powered by an engine from BMW and runs on regular petrol, can reach a cruising speed of 190 kph, can fly up to 1,000 km at over 8,000 feet, can carry two people and has so far clocked up around 40 flying hours. To convert to an aircraft, it takes just over two minutes; once you land, a press of a button converts it back to a car. It was built by Professor Stefan Klein, a Slovakian inventor and scientist, and he appears to be confident that cars like this have the potential to revolutionise the transport industry. We’re just happy to be alive at a time like this.
