The RS7 won our ‘Performance Car of the Year’ award by unanimous vote, so we’re understandably excited to see its new avatar launch in India. Performance stays eye-watering: how does 0-100 kph in 3.9 seconds and an optional top speed of 305 kph sound?

This is achieved with a 552 bhp, 71.4 kgm twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 that unleashes that fury to all four wheels via Quattro all-wheel drive and an eight-speed DSG gearbox. It also manages to squeeze out 10.5 kpl under ideal conditions, but we doubt we’d ever manage that with this car. Bringing things back to sane speeds is easy thanks to ceramic brakees. Adaptive air suspension is standard, and Dynamic Ride Control is on the options list. The RS7 isn’t about just power and speed: it also offers matrix LED headlamps, a Bose audio system, and RS sport seats for the front row.
All that power and luxury can be yours for the sum of Rs 1.4 crore, ex-showroom, Delhi and Mumbai. That does seem a little steep, but… 552 bhp. 305 kph. Enough said.
