With the launch of the Triumph Street Scrambler for Rs 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom, India) it is now the cheapest motorcycle in Triumph India’s lineup. Triumph had recently launched the Street Scrambler Sandstorm edition, which is Rs 60,000 more than the 2021 Street Scrambler. This BS6 model receives a few cosmetic updates like a new side panel with an aluminium number board, new heel guard, new brushed aluminium headlight bracket and new throttle body finishers among others.
Since this is just a BS6 update, the Street Scrambler gets the 900cc parallel-twin engine that produces the same 64 bhp and 8.1 kgm, paired to a 5-speed ‘box. Other mechanical bits on the Street Scrambler remains unchanged. Up front, it still gets the 41-mm telescopic forks and twin-sided rear springs. Also, up front, it features a 310-mm disc and at the rear, a 255-mm disc along with dual-channel ABS and switchable traction control. Furthermore, it gets three riding modes: Road, Rain and Off-road. Other equipment like a semi-digital instrument cluster that includes an analogue speedometer and an LCD for odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, to name a few. You even get a USB charging socket that should come in handy for long rides.
Besides all the cosmetic changes that you see on the standard Street Scrambler, Triumph India’s also offering it in three new paint schemes: Jet Black, Urban Grey and dual-tone Matt Khaki with Matt Ironstone scheme. Currently, it’s the Ducati’s Scrambler 800 range that’s a direct rival to the Triumph Street Scrambler.
