More from Motoring

BMW India has announced that two of its latest motorcycles made in collaboration with TVS will be launched on July 18, 2018. With these two, BMW Motorrad enters a more budget-focussed motorcycle segment,  but without straying from its brand values. The new BMW G 310 R is the road-going version while the G 310 GS, as its ‘GS’ moniker suggests, is the more adventure-orientated offering.

There has been a huge anticipation for these two, and after having showcased the duo at Auto Expo 2018 earlier this year, BMW is now less than a fortnight away from launching these. Bookings had begun earlier last month, with a booking amount of Rs 50,000 and promised deliveries on first-come-first-serve basis when the vehicle would be launched.

The G 310, regardless of the version you choose, comes powered by a 313 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The G 310 R gets a USD fork while the GS benefits from a longer travel suspension. Visually the G 310 GS looks heftier, and that is certainly the case — it weighs about 10 kilos more, too. The braking setup is the same on both — discs all around — and so is the fuel tank capacity.

Prices are expected to be close to the Rs 3.5 lakh mark.
