Ducati has unveiled the next-generation Scrambler ahead of EICMA 2022, with several updates for the 2023 model year. It will be available in three variants – Icon, Full Throttle and Nightshift.

The bike gets a redesigned LED headlamp, tail lamp and a new steel fuel tank. The new tank now comes with an interchangeable cover, allowing for easy customisation. It also gets a new 4.3-inch digital instrument console, new clutch and alternator covers and a reworked exhaust. With almost every panel being redesigned, it still manages to retain its original essence.

The 2023 Scrambler is powered by an 803cc air-cooled twin-cylinder engine that produces 73 bhp at 8250 rpm, and 6.62 kgm of torque at 7000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes with two riding modes, Road and Wet. The new model features ride-by-wire throttle management for the first time. This gives it the option to mount the Quick Shift up/down, as standard equipment on the Full Throttle and available as an accessory on the rest of the range.

The new Scrambler is reportedly 4 kg lighter than the outgoing version thanks to an updated trellis frame and a new-gen Desmodue engine that is about 2.5 kg lighter than the previous generation. It is now equipped with a bearing-mounted shift drum, which allows for smoother and more precise shifting. It also gets a traction control system and cornering ABS for enhanced safety.
